Anne LatowskyAnne Latowsky received her Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle in 2004 and joined the French faculty at USF that same year. She previously taught as a lecturer at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Professor Latowsky specializes in Medieval French literature and its relationship to Frankish and Anglo-Norman historiographical traditions. Her published articles treat both vernacular and Latin texts and she is at work on a book entitled Holy Land Fictions: The Journey to Jerusalem and Constantinople in the Medieval French Tradition. Her article “Foreign Embassies and Roman Universality in Einhard’s Life of Charlemagne,” (Florilegium 22 [2005] ) was recently awarded the 2007 Van Courtlandt Elliott Prize from the Medieval Academy of America for a first article in the field of medieval studies judged to be of outstanding quality. http://www.medievalacademy.org/grants/gradstudent_elliottprize.htm Professor Latowsky offers a variety of courses for undergraduates, as well as advanced courses in Medieval French literature, Old French, French Linguistics and Phonetics, and French Civilization. |
