Camilla VásquezCamilla Vásquez is an Assistant Professor in the Applied Linguistics/TESOL M.A. program and the SLAIT (Second Language Acquisition and Instructional Technology) Ph.D. program at the University of South Florida. She regularly teaches graduate courses such as Contrastive Analysis (LIN 6748), Grammatical Structure of American English (LIN 6675), Introduction to Graduate Study in Applied Linguistics (LIN 6081), and Second Language Acquisition (LIN 6720). Prior to receiving her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Northern Arizona University in 2005, Camilla was a Fulbright Research Fellow in Thailand and an EFL teacher in Argentina and the Czech Republic. Currently, her research interests include pragmatics, institutional discourse, narrative analysis, as well as a range of issues in language teacher education. Her work has appeared in journals such as Discourse Studies, Linguistics and Education, ELT Journal, Language Awareness, and Canadian Modern Language Review.
