March 12-14, 1999

The Fourth National Institute for Hispanic Library Education will focus on innovative service delivery, sensitivity to cultural diversity, development of collections, and education of staff to provide excellent services to youth of Hispanic heritage. The Institute's opening banquet and keynote by Dr. Isabel Schon is being held in conjuction with the Alice G. Smith Alumni Banquet and Lecture Series, an annual School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) event. Dr. Smith was the first director of the USF Educational Media Program, and the driving force in obtaining ALA accreditation for SLIS.
